Read in the press: "It blends the past with the present with a subtle sprinkling of delicious nostalgia. Regressive, tasty, like a carambar that sticks to your teeth, it makes you want to come back for more". Sud-Ouest The Show "A Travers Champs PAULO is back on the road this season with his show "A Travers Champs". He has a gift for evoking subjects that speak to everyone. His one-man show rings true and touches all generations. Constantly updated, his subtle humour tackles topical issues as if he were at the bar in the village café. A Travers Champs...", the title of his show, takes his audience on a journey, describing people's lives with striking realism and a touch of nostalgia. He tells us about a time when people fetched water from the well, when lovers met at the ball and when revellers rode home on two horses. His show is a film of black-and-white memories that we love to revisit and share. Although the character is full of nostalgia, he doesn't say that things were better before. No, he even learns to master the ver-lan and social networks. Filled with anachronisms, his show bridges the gap between yesterday and today, and only makes the best of it. Paulo, from life to stage Born in 1961 in the Sarthe region of France, Paulo has been attracting laughter from an early age. His vocation was born on the school benches, and he got his first taste of the theatre through one of his passionate French teachers. Paulo has always taken on the role of a comic character: Tartuffe, Scapin, or Doctor Knock. But it was much later, in 1995, when he was spotted by a producer, that he decided to make laughter his profession. Initially, his shows were confined to his home region. His career evolved through a series of encounters, notably with Jean Martiny, an actor and playwright who was discovered by Philippe Bouvard, who became his stage director. Together, they developed the show, which is now being exported all over France and on the most famous stages in Paris: the Point Virgule, the Petit Casino de Paris and the Olympia in 2013. From 2009 to 2016 Paulo was also a columnist on France Bleu Maine radio, and for almost 30 years he has been touring France "à travers champs", meeting over 900,000 spectators.
