    More information

Since the 17th century there are huges formal gardens at the castle of La Roche Courbon. After a century in a state of neglect, the castle is bought in 1920 and the gardens are rebuilt according to those of yesteryear. The ornemental lake is created in order to extend the gardens beyond the stream Bruant.
However, the space is fragile because of the swamps. So to preserve the gardens, there are rebuilt on stilts. A remarquable achievement that we don't even think of when we walk through the paths.

You can visit the gardens all year and without the guided tour of the castle.
With your ticket, you can access to the exhibition about the gardens, the old games room, the museum of prehistory, the caves and PréhistoZen (from May to September), Since the 17th century there are huges formal gardens at the castle of La Roche Courbon.
