Our gîte is self-contained, offering the advantage of relaxing in an authentic, original setting of old stonework, peace and greenery.
*** Typical Charente country house, full of character, set in a large garden planted with trees (the old farmyard), detached, 100 m2, on one level, two bedrooms (sleeps 4) with views over the garden, situated on the banks of the Charente.
*** An ideal location for swimming in the Charente and walking and cycling in the countryside, with private access to the river, fishing, lounging (deckchairs, hammock, brazier, barbecue, etc.), cycling (2 provided), closed garage for bikes and for sports equipment, 18-hole golf course and horse riding nearby. On the Flow Vélo route.
*** The long sandy beaches and the unusual little islands of the Atlantic (Madame, Aix, Oléron, Ré) are close by (40 km), and we can tell you about our favourites for young and old alike. There are many picturesque sites to visit in the hinterland in the centre of which the gîte is situated (7 km from Saintes, 16 km from Cognac, 80 km from La Rochelle).
*** In the village, within easy walking distance along the river Charente, you'll find shops and services, a market and restaurants. Saintes has some exceptional fish and farmers' markets.
*** The facilities allow you to stay for long periods out of season (heating, internet), working from home, while you find the house of your dreams, for a professional objective or a transfer. Wifi and work area available. Or simply to recharge your batteries in the countryside! Close to reception halls, ceremonies and weddings in the surrounding area (La Seigneurie, Mouillepied, Crazannes, .la Roche Courbon, etc).
