The Germanicus arch represents the symbol of Romanization. In 18-19 AD, it was erected at the entrance of the Roman bridge to enter the city. Located at the end of the Roman road, the "Via Agrippa", this road with two bays crossed the centuries and was saved from the ruin in the 19th century by Prosper Mérimée. Today we still see the engraved stones of a dedication to Tiberius and Germanicus, a valuable testimony to the importance of the city in the first century.
