Caroline and Matthieu share their passion for their profession with you:
Tradition... is it important?
What's important is to continue cultivating family land. My husband and I took over the family farm in 1997 with the idea of producing Charentais wines on 1/3 of the surface area, in addition to cognac, pineau, etc., and offering our products for sale.
Was this a first for the estate?
Totally. Over the years, we've planted different grape varieties to produce different wines, and today we have around 25 references. We're part of the generation that really helped Charentais wines evolve.
What drives you?
The potential we have in front of us. We've been lucky enough to acquire a very fine "tool" that we've shaped in our own way. It's important to have your own project when taking over a business, even a family business! And I like to explain what we do on tasting tours, in the boutique or in producers' stores. I'm not just selling my wine, I'm selling a story! Charente-Maritime is a department of great cultural and food diversity. We're only too happy to help you discover them - it's also part of our "mission"!
