La Maison des Aqueducs Gallo-Romains (House of Gallo-Roman Aqueducts) will open its doors in Vénérand in April 2026. Housed in a former watermill, this new interpretive centre immerses you in the heart of Roman ingenuity.

Discover the history of the 18 km aqueducts that supplied the ancient city of Saintes (Mediolanum). Through models, films, explanatory materials and 3D reconstructions, this interpretive centre tells the fascinating story of the construction of these hydraulic structures. The tour (spread over three levels) reveals the expertise of the Romans, from capturing the underground river to supplying the ancient city of Saintes.
