    More information

On April 25, 1868, the Compagnie du Chemin de Fer de la Seudre was created, and it would take years of negotiations, studies, fund-raising and war (1870-1871) before the line went into operation on August 28, 1875. At the time, it took 1h45 to travel from Pons to Royan. On April 8, 1876, the track was completed between Saujon and La Tremblade, by which time the line's stations had been completed, and on June 25 of the same year, the 10:20 a.m. train inaugurated the line!

    An exceptional railway heritage!
The Train des Mouettes has 4 diesel locomotives, one of which is a listed historic monument, two steam locomotives, one of which is a listed historic monument, as well as passenger carriages and American carriages (used to transport goods, products and soldiers).

Operates Thursday to Sunday in April, May, June and September, and daily in July and August (departures from Saujon and La Tremblade). Find out all the latest news about our theme trains and the Seudre Océan Express train-restaurant on our website www.traindesmouettes.fr.
